Key Responsibilities

• Support operations studio and control room personnel
• Monitoring Operations personnel work records and vacation allotment
• Provide production crew costs for budget purposes
• Collaborate with College and University broadcast programs, recruiting for internship opportunities
• Implement a strategic training and development program
• Overseeing workings of technical facilities, trouble shooting equipment faults and daily reports, and ensuring follow up on repairs, involvement with facilities upgrades and changes
• Vetting and approval of timesheets and working with Payroll
• Liaison with production departments for all technical operational day to day and special project needs
• Daily on-air broadcast and production quality control
• Daily crew scheduling and supervision
• Monitoring Operations personnel skills and their development

Critical Qualifications

• Previous experience working with Payroll and Finance departments
• Practical experience and well versed in HD technologies
• Previous experience with unionized work environments and collective agreements
• Knowledge, familiarity and practical experience with automation system, IP technologies and their applications
• Practical experience with a broad knowledge of television technical theory particularly in the digital world
• Post-secondary education in broadcasting and/or related fields
• 3-8 years previous experience and a proven track record in all aspects of television production including live multi-camera studio, location and news productions
• Practical experience and knowledge with production control rooms and studios including: video switchers, digital servers, graphic systems and related technologies; audio consoles, accessories and infrastructure; video cameras, configurations and their related accessories as well as robotic camera systems.
• Previous experience in dealing with suppliers and contracts
• Previous experience with formulating production budgets
