Job Description

Disability Administrator- 100% remote


Contract Period: 10/16/2023 to 10/15/2024 (1 year)

Pay Rate: $22.60/hr T4

Work Location: 100% remote - Ontario is preferred location, but open to other Provinces per candidate location.

Hours: standard office hours



This role provides administrative support to the National Group Disability organization and works closely with both our internal and external customers, including Case Managers, Associate Managers, DA and SDA colleagues, Specialists, Medical Consultants, Lawyers, Plan Sponsors, and Plan Members.


Responsibilities

  • Reviewing access requests meticulously and redacting third party information to avoid privacy breach – each document is reviewed to ensure it matches the request and authority above
  • Handling Client and Control Reports
  • Privacy Breach incidents are referred to the employee’s leader who handles the resolution and reporting requirements.
  • Data entry (from claim forms to claims payment system – Navigator)
  • Offsite file tracking/search/retrieval
  • Processing Access Requests (file copy requests) by reviewing the request and the consent to identify correct information to send and authority to do so.
  • IT equipment ordering/support for existing employees.
  • Handling of media files
  • Issuing payments for vendor invoices
  • Handling emails in several group email inboxes
  • Emailing and/or printing and sending out correspondence to claimants, clients or other stakeholders ensuring that privacy protocols are followed.
  • Setting up disability claims and/or handling follow-ups for claims
  • New hire onboarding - Ordering IT equipment/access, coordinating with manager of new hire.
  • Assisting with new client onboarding – transfer of files


Must Have

  • Post-secondary education (college or university level) is required
  • Tact and diplomacy
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to cope with high workload volumes and conflicting deadlines
  • Strong PC skills with experience using Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fast learner who is analytical, proactive, and takes initiative
  • Ability to probe, investigate and take ownership of discrepancies/issues and see through to resolution
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and planning abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team


Nice to Have

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required.
