Accounts Payable and Finance Assistant - 10 Month Fixed Term Contract

Reports to: Financial Controller

Location: Vancouver, BC

COBS Bread is looking for an enthusiastic, organized and adaptable self-starter to fill the role of an AP and Finance Assistant for our Downtown Vancouver Support office. This role will be responsible for a full-cycle accounts payable process, various reconciliations, expense processing and vendor communications as well as creating a great first impression for clients and customers when overseeing the reception area.

Responsibilities includes:

• Continuously review outstanding A/P items and maintain integrity of payments and reports
• Liaising with Financial Controller regarding weekly cash flow requirements
• Providing support to finance team wherever necessary and other assistance with P&Ls as required
• Assisting with reception duties and administrative tasks (e.g., general phone line) during leave and absences are required
• Ensuring monthly sales for bakeries are reconciled and processed within timeline
• Other duties as assigned
• Assisting Accountant with Month End reporting items including items such as management of corporate card accounts, supplier reconciliation, and processing accruals where required
• Coordinating full cycle accounts payable responsibilities such as processing invoices, maintaining corporate card program management and completing monthly financial reports

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience with G/L accounting system
• Minimum 2 years’ accounts payable work experience or combination of accounts payable and office administration experience
• Adept in MS Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel as well as being comfortable with other computer systems
• Demonstrate a strong, professional customer service focus
• Experience with basic accounting and managing banking processes is an asset
• A pro-active work approach demonstrating a high level of initiative
• Experience in basic accounts payable and data processing skills including handling petty cash, credit cards and expenses
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task while meeting tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Sage or other accounting software
