Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Manage the mixing process for cookie dough production lines with a hands–on approach.

Oversee the operation of mixing department in the food processing plant.

To supervise employees ensuring recipes are followed as per required production schedule and goals are achieved.

Training employees to work in the mixing department as required.

Inspects batch mixtures to ensure customer specifications are followed, working closely with standards outlined by Quality Assurance Team.

High level of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Oracle and Kronos a plus

Ability to maintain open and effective communication with employees and all levels of management

Lead and complete projects as assigned by the Production Manager

Maintain positive relationships with both hourly and managerial staff members

The preferred candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing production environment.

Experience in a supervisory capacity promoting a teamwork approach

Manage, initiate, and direct the activities of employee's and equipment.

Speak with managers and supervisors to explain progress of jobs and to obtain instructions and tasks.

Teach employees and less experienced workers to install new equipment, perform maintenance tasks and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.

High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

Journeyman/woman trade certification in related field considered an asset.

Minimum three years of machine shop experience and supervision experience considered an asset.

Drive safety, quality, delivery and production requirements on a daily basis

Ensure customer delivery requirements, inventory levels, and budget guidelines are met

Experience in Automotive/Defence/OEM production facility

Requires knowledge Heat Treat and Heat Treat Equipment

Knowledge of Labour Relations and the Collective Agreement

Work with scheduling and production management to set daily production priorities.

Ensure that training requirements for each departmental employee are identified and plans are in place to close gaps.
