Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day an assigned Crush production operations department shift and support the Crush Production Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity.


Responsibilities:


  • Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated, and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
  • Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift.
  • Report and trouble shoot operations issues.
  • Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the crush department.
  • Provide input to the Crush Production Manager and/or Plant Manager to plan annual shutdowns.
  • To maintain all aspects of the quality and food/feed safety system such as QMS, HACCP, GMP and other BNA systems.
  • Support Process Safety Management programs.
  • Ensure crush department is compliant with sanitation requirements. May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary.
  • Approve daily reports and KPRs for the crush department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee crush department production shift activities to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.
  • Track and report crush productivity improvements.
  • Periodically participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned.
  • Monitor KPR’s and help develop plans to bring crush in line with Operations Excellence goals.
  • Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of crush in all aspects.


Qualifications/ Requirements:


  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required
  • Proficiency with basic digital literacy, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed.
  • 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in canola crushing or related and applicable activities.
