Job Description

Since 1958, Robar Industries has been Canada's largest manufacturer of pipe fittings. Our team finds it really rewarding to be a part of delivering such an important resource our communities around the world!


We are overhauling our St. Bruno plant and are looking for an eager and energetic Production Supervisor who will report to our Industrial Engineer and be a part of this transformation. As this position will span supervising our production team to overseeing and maintaining our plant assets, there is lots of opportunity to grow.


Here are some of the things our Production Supervisor will do:


  • Evolving our safe work practices and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Completing all required Quality Control and Returned Goods inspection documentation.
  • Supporting Production with all day-to-day issues related to welding equipment, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Supporting the efforts of our Industrial Engineer in implementing lean manufacturing initiatives and creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Troubleshooting issues with, and ensuring maintenance of, plant equipment to optimize operations.
  • Supervise and plan production by coordinating with our individual department Lead Hands and Inside Sales.
  • Planning and coordinating the mechanical maintenance schedule of capital assets with key team members.
  • Ensuring quality standards are exceeded.
  • Interview and onboard new hires.
  • Managing consumables stock and performing regular inventory checks of raw materials etc.


Does this sound like you?


  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts with strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Work with autonomy and a sense of initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Ability to adapt on the fly and a "get stuff done" attitude.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • 1-3 years experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • A technical diploma in a related discipline such as auto mechanics, millwright, Electromechanics, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Technology, or similar education or equivalent and relative industry experience would be considered an asset.
