SLACAN Industries Inc. is Canada's largest designer and manufacturer of Poleline Hardware, which includes a full line of Transmission and Distribution products. We service the OEM market including agricultural, mining, and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments. We are currently running 3 shifts consisting of Days, Afternoons and Nights.
Our Company is growing and we are currently looking for a new Supervisor to join the team on the midnight shift!

Position Overview
To supervise the manufacture of all products in their area of responsibilities including execution of production schedules, allocating resources, equipment maintenance, quality and employee performance, safety, and training. To assist in the coordination of Supervisors and implementation of initiatives throughout the Organization.
Responsibilities
- Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, worker performance and quality of product.
- Ensure all quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved.
- Suggest innovative processes or investments that will improve current processes.
- Analyzes and resolves work issues and assists workers in solving work related issues.
- Measure work in process to estimate work hour requirements to meet production schedules.
- Assures necessary equipment, personnel, tooling, and materials are available.
- Conducts accident and investigations as per the policy.
- Ensures that all employees comply with all company and government legislated health and safety policies and procedures.
- Inspects product to verify conformance to specifications and directs any changes that are required.
- Demonstrates leadership and involvement in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities throughout the operation, however particularly in his/ her area of responsibility.
- Work proactively to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
- Plan, assign, and direct work, take corrective action, administer discipline, address complaints, and resolve problems.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
- Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- 3 -7 years in a supervisory role in metal manufacturing, machining or similar environment.
- At least 3 years experience in a Unionized manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education in engineering technology or business management program or equivalent industry experience.
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess a high degree of initiative, and works well under pressure.
