The Role
Maple Leaf Foods at 643 Speedvale Ave. W., in Guelph is accepting applications for a Utilities Team Member within our Prepared Meats Plant which specializes in Lunches, Snacking, & Charcuterie products. Duties may include:

• Laundering gloves
• Replenishing employee supplies in the production areas including sanitizer, gloves, aprons etc.
• Sweeping all production areas
• Emptying and collecting garbage from all lines
• Squeegeeing bathroom floors
• Collecting outside garbage, cafeteria garbage
• Placing G8 in various areas on the floors
• Tracking inventory of various PPE items

Hours Of Work

• Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday overtime.
• Shift times are:
• Full time, Permanent
• 345 9m to 12:15 am

What We Are Looking For

• Interact and share information with employees at all levels (Team members, Lead Hands, Supervisors, Others). Actively participates in work groups
• Depending on production requirements, employees may be assigned alternate duties
• Employees will be required to sweep and clean during production breaks and lunches
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Employees will receive the necessary training and will be required to complete an evaluation prior to being eligible for the position and the higher category rate of pay
• Actively finds new and improved ways of completing tasks. Is willing to try new things and assume additional responsibilities
• Absolute adherence to working in the designated ready to eat areas. This individual will not come into contact with any product, lines or equipment in compliance with food safety guidelines
• Frequent twisting, bending, pulling, standing and heavy lifting are required
• Employees will be responsible for notifying a Supervisor or the purchaser when job associated supplies are low and need to be ordered (i.e.; garbage bags, aprons, sanitizer etc.)
• Please note that the start times, scope and duties of this position may change periodically
• Demonstrated ability to wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements
• Ensure appropriate GMP apparel and procedures are being followed
