Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor process effectiveness – make suggestions on how to improve the process and communicate with the appropriate personnel what actions should be taken.
- Participate annual performance reviews for direct reports on a monthly basis and communicate job expectations, monitor, evaluate, and review job results.
- Ensure that employees follow the production guidelines and work instructions in place, and that proper tools are used to complete the job.
- Comply with the disciplinary policy when employee behaviour needs to be corrected and provide coaching on how to bring behaviour up to standard.
- Carry out production tasks in accordance with industry standards, obeying legal authorities and with regard to established policies and procedures of Select Finishing.
- Ensure all policies and procedures of Select Finishing are understood and followed by employees.
- Assign work based on projects and customer demand by defining responsibilities and allocating resources for team members to complete a project effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to production
- Assist in cross-training of all employees to achieve a more flexible, versatile production team.
- Increase production efficiency by organizing manpower, evaluating activities performed, identify bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
- Delegate necessary tasks and provide all information and instructions that clearly establish what the completion criteria are so that it’s clear when the task is complete and successful.
- Communicate daily production statistics effectively and respectfully with Production Manager, all Senior Management, and employees.
- Report results, issues, and problems and the end of each shift to the Production Manager.
- Create a safety-conscious work environment by taking precautionary measures against accidents, providing proper PPE, monitoring, and coaching staff on appropriate PPE use and enforcing Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- Encourage teamwork by fairly distributing the workload and ensuring all staff are participating fully in the process.
- Promote team work by creating a positive environment and engaging employees.
- Provide feedback to employees to reward a job well done or to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and to improve productivity, understanding, and safety.
- Manage resources effectively to prevent waste.
- Maintain accurate daily shift notes at the end of each shift detailing production reports, employee concerns, health and safety concerns, or any other notable events from the shift.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of high school, with preference of post-secondary education or experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, Word and Excel
- Should possess a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, able to lead by example, team oriented, team player
