  • Job Purpose:
The Line Supervisor, Sewing is responsible for coordinating and planning the activities of the sewing floor, ensuring the teams are performing at a high level and reaching daily targets. Provide Leadership to the shop floor
Key Responsibilities:
  • Request Time studies to be done on a timely basis
  • Experience, Education and Designations:
  • Must be familiar with Sewing operations and Machines ( industrial type)
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
  • Continuously find ways to improve the process flow to maximize output.
  • Must be familiar with computers and business software such as MS Office, Excel,
  • Identify Training requirements for each section/ lines and coordinate with Training Supervisor
  • Provide a safe environment with in the department and Manufacturing floor
  • Ability to sew and follow Manual
  • Review the Production Schedule daily and plan work for the line (Sewing, Down fill)
  • 5 years of Supervisory positon ( Preferably in Apparel Industry)
  • Update the Management periodically with solutions/ action
  • Ability to work with a deal effectively with a diverse group of people
  • Review all Production boards are up to date with accurate information for all.
  • Review reports and make decisions on a timely manner
  • Review the approved Sample with the Manual before production start
  • Work with the Industry Engineering Techs to calculate the man power requirement and balance lines for optimum output.
  • Communicate and update direct reports for business updates/ Union grievances/ Management decisions.
  • Review with maintenance staff for all equipment are in working condition and used for the right operation
  • Working Conditions:
  • Review low performance (Efficiency & Quality) and work with them to create action plan s for improvements.
  • Able to Stand and walk for extended period of time.
  • Able to Prioritize work and delegate work
  • Over 10 years of Apparel Manufacturing experience
  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to read and write in English
