Job Description

At Robar Industries we value Team, Integrity, Quality and Growth!

We take for granted that water is always available when we turn on a faucet, but trust that many manufacturers, engineers, and contractors were involved to get that water to you, as well as reclaim it. Since 1958, Robar Industries has been Canada's largest manufacturer of pipe fittings, a significant piece of this process. Our team at Robar finds it incredibly rewarding to be a part of delivering such an important resource to communities around the world.

We are a family run business and we’ve gained a reputation for excellent products and long relationships with our customers. We have a positive work culture and a close-knit caring team.

Reporting to the General Manager – Western Canada, we are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team at our brand new, beautiful facility in Surrey.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize production scheduling by working with management to reach sales/man hour goals.
  • Meet on time delivery standards to ensure customer service excellence. Ensure continuous improvement standards for cost savings as efficiencies are always being reviewed.
  • Empower the “Chargehands” and “Leadhands” to be the leaders in their department. Work with them to take ownership in their work place. Guide/train them so they can perform the duties outlined in the union agreement contract.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.
  • Ensure that all applicable WorkSafe BC practices and Robar Safe Work Procedures are adhered to by coaching, instruction, presenting weekly crew talks, and discipline when necessary.
  • Lead annual inventory.
  • Work closely with the sales team, keeping them in the loop on production issues or delays.
  • Lead, optimize, train and engage a team of approx. 20 unionized team members.
  • Provide feedback, coaching and support to employees, continually developing them and providing progressive discipline when required.
  • Hire, supervise and ensure training of production employees in the use of equipment, production techniques and safety standards.
  • Purchasing of materials and supplies needed for production.
  • Proactively work with other department leaders and key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness on all levels.

In this role, you’ll be an essential part of Robar’s close-knit, high-energy, and supportive team.

Finally, you’re sure to be successful in this role if you are someone who likes to pitch in and get things done. “That’s not my job,” is not in our vocabulary. That’s our culture at Robar, and it makes work fun.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Welding experience or knowledge is a strong asset.
  • M inimum 3–5-years experience leading a unionized team in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to positively and effectively lead a team.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.
  • Manages multiple priorities and meets established deadlines.

If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you. Apply today.
