We are searching for a Wire & Cable Business Development Manager to lead our Wire & Cable practice and increase our market share across all branches. You will support and evolve the company’s Wire & Cable strategy leading to increased market share and growing the department. A customer facing role requiring someone with experience engaging with Contractors, Industrial and OEMs clientele.
This crucial role represents the highest level of Wire & Cable knowledge within the company. Reporting to an executive team member, you will play a key role in introducing new products and related services, monitoring market prices, then advising such to the pricing, procurement, and Executive teams.

✅ Key Areas of Responsibility
The part that you play in this organization, and specific duties you are measured against
- Engaging with vendors / manufacturers to explore and evaluate Wire & Cable products and offerings, conducting market research, and developing new vendors
- Delivering sales presentations
- Maintain strong relationships with vendor partners so as to achieve profitable sales
- Analyze sales history to ensure you’re carrying the right offerings at the right price
- Provide technical, application and sales support when required
- Remain current on product and code changes and educate changes to internal sales resources across the branches
- As part of business development, visiting strategic customers and attending customer visits with local account managers, generating quotes and proposals
- Expect 60-70% travel to branches and clients
- Manage, coach and train two direct reports: Inside Sales Reps - Wire & Cable
- Yearly wire & cable planning and forecasting to establish inventory levels
- Regularly attending branches, potentially with vendor rep, to educate sales staff on products and how to sell Wire & Cable
- Building relationships with internal stakeholders including procurement and inventory departments and the executive team
✅ About you
All the things you’re good at because you’ve done most of these before
- 10years Account Management and Business Development experience with Contractors, Industrial and OEM clients
- Very strong Wire & Cable knowledge. Must be able to answer 100% of high-level questions from customers and sales staff
- Experience developing sales strategies
- Experience managing complex sales cycles
- Delivering sales training
- Experience in marketing and promotion
- Experience developing and delivering technical and sales training
- Knowledge of electrical codes related to wire, cable and their installation
✅ Location
- Regular travel to customers within assigned territory and other offices
- This role can be based anywhere from Toronto to SWO
- Partial work-from-home as required
