Vp, Acquisition Onboarding & Finance Integration

We are seeking a Vice President, Acquisition Onboarding & Finance Integration to join our team in Winnipeg, Calgary or Toronto.

Reporting to the SVP, Acquisitions & Integration, the VP, Acquisition Onboarding & Finance Integration is an important leadership role within the Company’s fast-paced Merger & Acquisition (M&A) function. This role will be responsible for the overall achievement of onboarding new acquisitions and the execution of finance integration, with the core objectives of quality of outputs while creating a positive experience for all stakeholders involved.

The Vice President, Acquisition Onboarding & Finance Integration will:

• Create a positive experience for the principals of new acquisitions, acting as a key liaison for them into the various People Corporation functions.
• Oversee the project management of the entire acquisition onboarding plan and the execution of the finance integration portion of the plan.
• Leadership
• Finance Integration
• Direct oversight of the financial results being reported for new practice acquisitions during the integration period, including budget creation, implementing forecast process and reporting on variance analysis for actuals.
• Assist in organization and project management aspects of the M&A transaction process.
• Preparation of overall Integration department’s budget and monitoring of actuals.
• Collaborate on and support the development of a Business Readiness Model for transitioning integrated practices.
• Review of synergy forecasts and reporting on synergy achievement.
• Direct oversight of the finance integration team, who’s core responsibilities are to absorb all accounting tasks from new acquisitions for an interim basis, work with the practice leaders to adjust business processes to conform with PC standards, and then transition the accounting tasks to PC’s accounting teams.
• Acquisition & Onboarding
• Building and maintaining relationships with the Corporation Development team, the Acquisition Due Diligence team, the Integration Management Office team and the Operational Finance teams; and
• Collaborate with Integration Management Office on planning and prioritization of the various acquisition onboarding tasks.
• Overseeing acquisition accounting activities including working capital audits, purchase price allocations, valuation of intangible assets and contingent consideration such as vendor earn-out payments.

To be successful as a Vice President, Acquisition Onboarding & Finance Integration with People Corporation, you will need:

• CPA designation in good standing.
• Participation, management and/or leadership of large-scale projects.
• Preference will be given to applicants with financial services, group insurance, or project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) relevant to accounting, business administration.
• You have 8 to 10+ years' experience working in a fast-paced analytical leadership role within a growth-oriented environment.
