Vp/ Head Of Finance

We have an exciting search underway for a growing technology/SaaS client with their head office in downtown Toronto. The company is a ubiquitous name in their industry; has a great track record of performance; and is well-known for having a company culture centered on employees and customers. Supported by private investment partners, they have experienced significant organic growth and want to add a VP/Head of Finance to their team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in the organization's financial management and strategic decision-making. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Shareholder and board communication
• Team leadership and development
• The day-to-day oversight of the finance and accounting function
• Business partnering and collaboration across the organization
• Legal and contract management
• Process improvement and data automation

To excel in this role, you should have a proven track record leading a finance team, ideally within the technology or software industry. You will have a lot of experience in building and managing financial data and systems, and developing lean processes.

Your experience should also demonstrate strong financial management skills, compliance expertise, and the ability to guide strategic decision-making. Moreover, your passion for technology and how to leverage it for the benefit of the company will be well served in this role. The ideal candidate is excited and knowledgeable about automation tools, and can build systems to scale with the growing organization.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

To be considered for this transformative leadership opportunity, you will possess the following qualities:

• Evidence of strong relationship-building skills, cross-functional leadership capabilities, and high emotional intelligence
• Successful track record of building a finance department in a rapidly growing SMB – preferably with technology or software companies
• Proven organizational skills; excellent decision-making skills; able to prioritize key deliverables
• An effective communicator, with strong verbal and written skills
• CPA Designation with 10+ years progressive experience; and 3+ years as a finance leader
• Ability to develop systems and data dashboards that easily communicate the health of a business
• Proven expertise in evaluating, recommending, and implementing financial best practices, policies, and procedures
