Technical Services Engineer - Calgary

Summary:

The Technical Services Engineer supports the engineering activities for the Company and is primarily focused on providing technical support to the Operations & Sales Teams. The position reports to the Technical Services Engineering Manager and is based primarily in the Houston corporate office with travel to Canada and US field locations.

Schedule:

• We support a hybrid work environment consisting of flexible remote and in-person collaboration at our Calgary office and field locations
• This position holds normal business hours, with 15-25% travel expected

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with Procurement to secure critical parts as needed to support ongoing contracts
• Safety Champion to help promote a proactive and positive safety culture within Certarus
• Consistently audit equipment parameters in SCADA
• Write Safe Working Procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and any other documentation relevant to mitigating safety risks or improving Certarus’ operations
• Coordinate and manage construction of required onsite infrastructure
• Support ongoing development and execution of the Certarus Training Program
• Act as technical liaison to vendors
• Applications support and technical expertise during customer office and/or field site visits
• Bridge communications between the Engineering Team and Operations at various levels
• Perform RCA and analyze data to determine and correct problem areas
• Build tools and processes to standardize or simplify day to day work and improve consistency
• Support sales team as needed in accurately defining project scope and costs
• Provide technical assistance to field and visit customer sites as needed
• Research regulatory requirements and execute changes to achieve compliance
• Complete detailed designs of major customer projects

Requirements:

• Demonstrated success in fast paced cultures
• A self-starter with relentless habits in line with Certarus core values
• Excellent organizational & communication skills
• Ability to perform root cause analysis.
• 5+ years’ experience in a technical role within an industrial hands-on environment, with oilfield experience being an asset
• Experience with data analysis, electrical, controls, piping systems, and compressed gases is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, Canadian Electrical Code, and National Electrical Code is an asset
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
