ChampionX has an immediate need for a Technical Service Professional in our Production Chemical Technologies group located in Fort McMurray, AB. You will be primarily responsible for technical support to our Oilsands sales team and their customers with the assistance from of other Technical Service and Research/Development team members.

What You Will Do

• Support phase separation, heat exchanger health, de-oiling, and production needs within the Oil Sands region
• Develop strong relationships with all levels of the sales teams to understand their customer needs and challenges
• Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required.
• Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data, and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.
• Work closely with current and new customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
• Work with ChampionX sales personnel and their customers to solve process issues or improve current treatment programs.
• Overnight travel within the Oil Sands sales territory
• Actively sell and support ChampionX innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships.

Position Details

• Candidate must reside in: Fort McMurray
• No immigration sponsorship offered for this role.
• Area of responsibility includes Fort McMurray and surrounding areas.
• This position may require overnight travel.
• Work week and shift: Monday – Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Chemical Engineering Technology Diploma.
• This is a safety-sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or Chemical Engineering Technology diploma
• Prior experience that required excellent communication skills
• Experience in oil and gas industry preferred
• Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multitask
• Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
• History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
• High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
• Prior experience that required excellent organizational skills
• Working knowledge of SAGD water treatment, steam generation, production, process, and de-oiling
• Previous Refinery/Petrochemical experience an asset
• 1+years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience
