The Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a keen and hard-working health and safety Field representative who will work on our project sites in Alberta and Saskatchewan and other locations as required. This is a field role so that the individual will be actively working on our project sites, in confined space as required, working with management and project staff.
· Organize and run weekly Safety meetings and daily Tool Box talks
· Reporting as required
· Site Safety Orientations
· Site Mentorship and Training
· Client audits as required
· Site safety paperwork
· Target zero program promotion and delivery and “buy in”
· Mentorship program promotion and delivery and “buy in”
· Identify and mitigate hazards on site
· Act as resource for incident and near miss investigations.
· Provides guidance to site personnel on safety related matters and escalate where appropriate. · Maintains knowledge of and monitor compliance with OHS legislations and other applicable provincial or federal legislation and standards.
· Promotes the principles of safe work and encourages participation in safety initiatives
· Completes worksite inspections, job observation to monitor compliance and identification of risk
· Assists in maintenance of business continuity and emergency management plans and procedures as required.
· Other duties as reasonably assigned
Qualifications and Key Skills
·NCSO designation.
· Minimum of 2-5 years working in the field oil and gas services experience at project sites
- Experience in administrative tasks such as, updating ISNetwork, Complyworks, Work hub and other systems.
· Experience in risk assessment
· Knowledgeable of applicable health and safety legislation, OH&S code.
· Experience with and knowledge of Safety Programs and Protocols (Site safety management, SOPs, Hazard Identification, investigations and reporting, and Competency programs) WCB is an asset.
· Must be physically fit and willing and able to travel to all worksites as needed.
· Having experience working in a diverse environment and working with the Indigenous community is an asset for this role.
· COVID-19 knowledge and training is an assetHigh degree of professionalism
· Tickets, H2S Alive, Confined Space, CSTS, CSO, First Aid, Fall Arrest, Clean safety record
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license and Drivers Abstract.
· Experience is writing JSAs and Hazard Assessments
· Proficient in MS Office applications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· This exciting position is responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day safety requirements at the work sites
· This is a “hands-on” role with a candidate who is able to continue to build relationships in a project-based site function with management and project employees.
