Description:
High-Level Description
• Responsible for ensuring the safe and effective project engineering, development, design, construction and close-out of mid-scale engineering projects in the Facility & Storage Programs
Scope/Dimensions
• Projects - individual AFEs of $100K to $5MM and cumulative budgets of $40MM USD.
Specific Accountabilities
• Manage engineering and construction contractors, ensuring technical and regulatory compliance of engineering designs across projects.
• Interface with Operations and Facility Integrity to assist with the development of various scopes including equipment repair / replacement.
• Able to understand and review P&IDs, PFDs, Isometrics and General Arrangement drawings
• Review and approve fabrication and assembly approval drawings for engineered equipment, and other fabrications (piping, pressured vessels)
• Assist with project controls, cost estimates and scheduling
• Accountable for responding to construction RFIs and providing technical support during construction.
• Ensure that Enbridge processes and procedures are adhered to and followed.
• Develop and plan projects, work closely with internal partners to ensure plans are developed, communicated and followed.
• Analyze data from Direct Assessment, Hydrotesting and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) field results and determine actions such as required Integrity Digs and Repairs, as well as Fitness for Service
• Influence others, have a positive impact on project performance by building buy-in by involving those affected and influencing key stakeholders across, up, and down the organization.
• Drive results, to ensure project performance is maintained and meets the stakeholder’s expectations.
• Coaches and mentors junior project engineers.
• Support department initiatives as required.
• Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs
• Regularly reporting the project status to stakeholders and management, proactively raising issues as needed.
• Actively monitor and report on project progress, using key performance indicators, and taking the necessary actions to correct adverse situations or trends.

• Time commitments often extend beyond normal working hours.
• Office environment with frequent travel to field locations, regulatory agencies, customer offices and other Company offices.
• Shifting priorities to meet changing directions
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work priorities, fieldwork schedules, and travel.
• Position requires calm, quick decision making under intense conditions.
• Position also requires a working knowledge of office diplomacy and political correctness.
Working Conditions

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience in the Pipeline, Oil and Gas, Midstream, and Petrochemical Industries, construction management; industry standards & governmental regulations; complex detailed design experience dealing with static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, tanks, fired equipment).
• (5-7) years of Project Management experience. PMP certification desired, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API 510, API 570, API RP 574, API RP 576, API 579-1, API 653, NACE MR-01-075, etc.
• Proficient computer skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Well-developed problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills.
• A collaborative, team and service oriented work style.
• Motivated self-starter that works well independently and in fast paced team environments.
