Adecco is proud to present a full-time position for a Senior Project Engineer to join a highly respected energy company specializing in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. This long-term contract offers an incredible chance to contribute to a prominent organization and make a lasting impact. We are in search of an accomplished professional with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders on crucial technical decisions.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Job type: Full-time | Long-term Contract
Shifts: Monday – Friday| 8 hours per day

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize a balance of intuitive and rational decision-making to achieve the best solution.
- Incorporate the human element in the decision-making process - Utilizes collaborative and consensus-making decision processes as part of the team.
- Employ management of change in the implementation process to achieve a high level of buy-in for recommendations from all involved parties.
- Assign and monitor the work of other engineers and technical staff - may serve as a mentor.
- Contributes to the development of strategies to manage Engineering Quality of deliverables and Assets.
- Ensures Process Safety, Value Engineering and Safety Design principles in the development of design.
- Facilitate learning from past experiences and mistakes.
- Lead or work collaboratively in teams to develop plans to achieve long-term objectives or implement corporate strategies.
- Demonstrate the development of original ideas, viewpoints, or innovative solutions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Able to balance innovation & risk
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent is needed
- Must be a registered Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer or eligible for membership in APEGA
- Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
- Minimum seven years of Project Engineering experience
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
- Should have a comprehensive knowledge of industry codes, company standards and safety policies
- Possess the capacity to work with and influence stakeholders on technical decisions
