Team And Job Overview

Making a difference is not just about what you do. It is about how you do it. And who you do it with. A career at EDC gives you the chance to help Canadian companies conquer the global marketplace. To do business responsibly. To work shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the brightest, most dedicated professionals in their fields. People like you, who want to make a difference - for companies, for Canada and for each other.

EDC's Structured and Project Finance group (SPF) is a significant player in global project and infrastructure finance. Since its establishment in 1995, EDC's Structured and Project Finance group has closed over 540 financing transactions globally, accounting for financings in excess of USD 41 billion (as of the end of 2021). The Technical Advisory Services (TAS) team is part of the SPF group specializing in technical advice to various equity and debt financing as well as insurance teams within EDC.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Advisor in the TAS team with expertise in one or more of the following areas, with the core identified need in mining and metals.

  • Mining and metals
  • Clean technologies
  • Infrastructure
  • Resources (forestry and agri-food)
  • Utilities (power and water)
  • Power Generation (renewables and non-renewables)
  • Information and communications technology

As the Senior Technical Advisor you will report to the Managing Principal and deliver in-house consulting services, providing guidance and advice to lending, insurance and equity underwriting groups from deal origination through to signing, monitoring, and asset management. Your work will result in enhanced and better-informed negotiations, structuring and decision making with respect to the financial transactions undertaken by EDC.

You will join a growing team of seven technical advisors covering a broad range of sectors. In addition to your primary sector(s), you will have opportunities to expand your knowledge base and support your team members in other sectors as required.

This includes due diligence services on technical and commercial feasibility of project and investment proposals.
