We have Technical Supervisor positions available on several teams. What You Will Do


  • Work with stakeholders across CSIS to oversee the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures within your area of responsibility to ensure compliance with legislation and CSIS policies

  • Manage financial resources within your team, such as budget tracking, monitoring expenditures, rolling forecasting and strategic planning

  • Create Statement of Work / Requests for Proposals for the engagement of consultants, contractors and service provider companies, as needed, and regularly monitor deliverables

Education


Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in


  • Computer science;
  • Information technology;
  • Another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed; or,
  • Engineering;
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.


The educational program needs to be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, we will work with you to obtain the required proof of Canadian equivalency through a recognized credential assessment service.


Note: Any higher level of education (i.e., Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.


Experience


Five (5) years of recent* and significant** experience providing technical expertise and leading the development, delivery or support of technology activities.


Candidates must also have experience


  • Providing technical advice and recommendations (orally and in writing) to senior managers and employees; and,
  • Contributing to the development of work plans, developing technical requirements, and / or drafting design documentation.


Asset(s)


  • Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last ten (10) years.
  • Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties constitutes their main functions over that period.
  • Experience in formal or informal supervisory role

  • The majority of work in our organization must be done in the office and cannot be performed at home, however a hybrid approach is taken where possible (on-site and telework).

Security Requirements


Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance.
