- Ensure that relevant legislation, manuals, policies, and directives are interpreted, communicated, and applied consistently and accurately.
- Perform and document ad-hoc reports after payrolls have been processed focusing on accuracy, compliance to internal standard operating procedures and legislative compliance.
- Maintain audit metrics and reporting for each payroll audited, document gaps and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Creates ad hoc reports regarding payroll information as needed.
- Refers employee Payroll issues to GHRSS team members while maintaining timely and accurate communications and resolutions.
- Assist with knowledge transfer and education to Associates with respect to existing and new processes and compliance requirements (internal and external).
- Assists Payroll Manager with various T4/RL1 balancing & Year End processes, including multi province government remittances.
- This position is a pivotal role in the ongoing success of GHRSS and Canada Payroll Operations
- Assists Payroll Manager with the development and maintenance of internal client policy documentation related to payroll processing.
- Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and/or employee questions timely and accurately.
- Ability to work independently, resourceful, and be a strong team player.
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- System MUST HAVES: Globalview, Salesforce, eTime
- Solid understanding of the full payroll processing cycle
- Intermediate understanding of Canada Payroll practices and multi provincial legislations
- Previous experience with off shored Global HR Shared Services Teams
- Detail oriented, high accuracy with figures
- Extreme attention to accuracy and detail.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Accurate data entry skills (numeric and alpha-numeric)
- Ability to multitask, probe, analyze, and problem solve.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent client management, interpersonal, and Project Management skills
- Strong organization, time management and prioritizing skills
- Canadian Payroll Association (PCP) certification preferred.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience
