Senior Operations Manager
We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager to support the Distribution Facility in the Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills. Will be able to work with and motivate their team to meet operational and financial objectives in the logistics industry.

About the Role:
We are looking for an individual to provide leadership, management and effective communications to both our customers and employees while delivering on operational and financial objectives. This role is a new position that is posed to help support the growth we are seeing as well as the addition of a Configuration Centre to our operation.
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Excellent organizing, prioritizing, multi-tasking, product management and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
- Controls inventory accuracy by conducting physical counts; reconciling with WMS.
- Safeguards warehouse operation and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintains good attendance. Schedules time off in advance to minimize negative impact on the operation.
- Ability to interact and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Manages warehouse staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.
- Ability to drive operational performance at the site level with a particular focus on productivity, quality, and cost.
- A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem solving.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Some additional responsibilities:
- Fulfill DC Managers’ duties in the DC Manager’s absence.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Maintains physical condition of the Configuration Centre by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Manages Configuration Centre staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Regularly communicate with the facility management on issues that arise and be able to react as required.
- Completes Configuration Centre operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Be available in work locations to assist as needed and resolve issues as required.
- Regularly conduct Customer/Vendor facing tours to support the business and be able to react as required.
- May operate motorized equipment (pallet jack, forklift, order picker, reach truck, etc.)
5-10 years in a Leadership capacity with experience in:
- Inventory Control
- Knowledge of LEAN processes
- Developing Standards
- Knowledge of WMS and LMS systems
- Reporting Skills
- Customer Relations
- Knowledge of Configuration Centre (preferred)
- Knowledge of 3PL (preferred)
- Managing Processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Safety Management
