DHL Express Canada has an opening for A Fleet Manager.
As a Fleet Manager, you will lead the procurement, inspection, assignment, maintenance, repair, and disposal of company-wide fleet of vehicles. You may participate in or contribute to negotiations for fleet purchases and leases, as well as conduct/participate in safety training and ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., hazardous material handling). In addition, you will investigate any accidents involving transportation vehicles.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

• Oversee Fleet fuel management systems
• Administer vehicle fleet policies regarding the purchase and disposal of vehicles, insurance and expense reports, accident reviews, safety and maintenance.
• Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors who perform fleet maintenance. Assist in the development and management of the fleet operating budget.
• Assign work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manage performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.
• Ensure that the inspection, licensing, and insurance of all vehicles are in compliance with company policy and applicable governmental regulations.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff.
• Oversee and facilitate the efficient and economical operation and maintenance of all DHL owned or leased vehicles and related equipment.
• Ensure the necessary number of vehicles are operational and available for use when needed. Establish and monitor parts inventory control system, fleet tracking system and vehicle numbering system.

• Highest standards of communication skills are essential
• Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 5+ years’ experience in related field.
• Excellent decision maker
• Knowledge of DHL networks is essential
• Fleet Telematics management experience
• Excellent developer and team builder
• Computer savvy (Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
• Network of relevant internal contacts desirable
• Financial Acumen (experience in building business cases for Capex), experience with P & L, AOP
• Excellent Automotive Mechanical Aptitude Required
• Knowledge of Commercial vehicle operation, trucking and logistics industries
• Inspirational leader and motivator
• Proven record in achieving targets/objectives
• Navigation of various data and web-based applications
• Excellent creative thinking, analytical skills
• Good written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
