About The Role


Essity North America is looking for an experienced Sales Strategy Manager – Consumer Goods. The role is responsible for enabling and driving the standardized, customer focused activities in Sales. Using the annual growth plan, this role will collaborate with the sales team to plan, execute, and support the customer focused sales activities by developing and maintaining an activation plan for the years big bets, commercial growth plans, tools, and metrics. The objective is to deliver accelerated sales and market share growth.


This is a hybrid position. The ideal candidate should live in the Greater Toronto area with ability to travel to Essity’s office in Oakville.

What You Will Do


Yearly Planning


  • Support Sales & Marketing Go-To-Market Strategy through supporting the strategic planning process together with sales leadership and brand marketing.
  • Plan and communicate yearly building blocks, planned marketing and innovation plans to the sales team
  • Role out yearly trade budgets and work with finance to track and identify any opportunities or challenges
  • Develop and execute the Commercial Activation Plan that integrates the review and execution of the yearly sales budget, yearly innovation and customer specific opportunities
  • Lead the building blocks process for financial forecast updates Budget, FC1, FC2.FC3


New Product Launch and Promotional Program Development and Presentations


  • Support innovation business case process with pricing alignment, volume assumptions, cannibalization estimates and customer listing expectations
  • Work with Marketing to develop trade deck for customer meetings
  • Provide distribution targets, pipeline targets, customer cannibalization, listing costs, tracking and feedback documents


Tracking, Dashboards & Recommendations


  • Follow up, control, and support the utilization of the standard sales metrics and utilize analytics dashboards to generate actionable insights and training that the sales force can use to improve selling behaviors and exceed overall performance goals.
  • Compare Budget vs. Customer LE to determine risk/opportunity. Identify challenges or opportunities


Best Practice Development and Training


  • Support line managers in the initiatives that improve sales performance and sales force productivity. Support development and activation of programs and metrics that increase the adoption of sales behaviors and outcomes around account and sales planning, pipeline forecasting, share growth, and forecast accuracy.
  • Support and enable the sales competency development and training; identify common needs and prioritize the next step improvements by highest economic impact; work in collaboration with other BU functions that is responsible for sales training, sales automation, and analytics to leverage our combined resources and best practices


Adhoc Requests


  • Support sales leads with coordinating and replying to adhoc requests to the business.


Who You Are


  • Excellent team player and ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Strategic thought leader with the ability to provide strong data-based insights.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient with MS-Office in the MS-Windows software, Excel pivot table, PPT, Outlook
  • Demonstrated experience and success in project management.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ Canadian Customer Head Office sales experience calling on one or more of Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, Walmart, Costco, Jean Coutu, Rexall, FamiliPrix, Drug Trading, Uniprix within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • University degree or equivalent
