Manager, Strategy
Full-time
GTA or Atlantic Canada
The Manager, Strategy will support developing and executing strategic initiatives that will drive further business growth and success at Day & Ross. You will conduct internal and external research and analyze that research to inform our overall strategy and strategic priorities. Working with functional teams across the organization, you will own and drive strategic initiatives from research and planning through to execution.
How You’ll Help:
Working in collaboration with the Senior Director of Strategy and functional teams, support development and execution of strategic projects for the Senior Leadership Team including:
- Stay up-to-date on key trends / activity impacting the industry including macro trends, competitive activity, technology, regulatory policies
- Support development of overall business strategy
- Support identifying and executing key strategic priorities
- Lead or support cross-functional business leaders to develop new strategic initiatives, develop implementation road-maps, and support implementation
- Develop executive materials and presentations
- Develop perspectives on external environment impact on our business
- Monitor external environment
- Provide thought leadership, problem solving, quantitative and qualitative analysis, workshop facilitation and recommendations
Your Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a role with senior leadership exposure and high level of accountability
- Demonstrated ability developing and analyzing financial and strategic models
- 3-5 years of experience in strategy or market analysis roles with 2+ years in management consulting, investment banking, or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and visual storytelling (presentation) skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across functions / departments
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and being challenged
- Experience in the logistics and transportation industry an asset
- Relevant undergraduate degree (typically business, finance, engineering, science related)
- Collaborative and approachable style with strong ability to work with team members and leaders at all levels
- Strong results orientation, excellent problem solver, and resourceful to ensure commitments are met
- Some travel may be required
- Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to interpret impact of analysis and trends on the business
