The Manager, Consumer Research & Insights will be responsible for supporting the Strategic Insights team execute strategic, consumer centric insights work and projects that will transform our business and help us create industry leading customer experiences and growth for our brand. This team member plays an important role in a small, entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and collaborative team working towards transforming the way consumers shop with M&M Food Market.
The role supports the strategic insights teams through all aspects of research, project development and execution, assisting with the day-to-day operations of various programs and conducting analyses to uncover impactful insights. Leveraging their research and insights experience, as well as their creativity and curiosity, the Manager, Consumer Research & Insights will bring together the different pieces of data to answer key business questions and create insights that help the team make better consumer-focused business decisions. The Manager will have proven experience with research methodologies and the ability to conduct thorough analysis using multiple data sources, evaluate and then present results. They are a motivated self-starter who is an insightful and results-orientated professional with exceptional interpersonal, communication, research and analytical skills.

The Manager, Consumer Research & Insights will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Develop and implement market research plans to gather insights on our products, competitors, and customers
- Manage external research partners and vendor relationships to ensure the timely and effective delivery of research
- Identify and track consumer behaviors and preferences to support the development of optimal product and marketing strategies
- Plan and coordinate a broad range of research activities, developing timelines, and managing the orderly flow of research projects from initial scoping and development to delivery and production of final assets
- Conduct research and analyze consumer and customer data to identify key trends and insights
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate strategic problems into research objectives that aim to fill key Build presentations to clearly articulate insights, simplify complex data, and tell a compelling story for various levels of audiences, including Executives and C-Suite
- Manage small-scale projects from start to finish with the support of the Director
- Drive the development of consumer and customer-centric initiatives that will support business growth and optimize marketing strategies.
- Synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources, including customer research data tables, trends reports, and internal transaction data. Extrapolate and interpret the information to uncover actionable insights

- Strategic thinker with keen interest in consumer shopping behaviours and trends
- Future focused – aggregating data sources to identify the white spaces and mines for opportunities
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Fosters connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships
- Experience with the retail industry an asset
- Solid foundation in research methodologies and fundamentals, i.e. ad pre-testing, BASES concept and product testing, custom research, qual learnings, quant studies, shopper insights. Additionally able to evaluate new methodologies with a keen eye
- Familiarity with mix development research methodologies, i.e. BASES testing, ad pre-testing, custom research, qual and quant studies
- Demonstrated ability of the following M&M Food Market Core Competencies: Flexibility and Adaptability; Communication; Passion & Drive; Resilience; Collaboration Integrity & Trust; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Resourcefulness

- Superior Microsoft Office and presentation skills
- Equally experienced in leveraging syndicated data, i.e., Nielsen MarketTrack, Homescan, Numerator HH panel, Customer data, Brand Power data
- The ability to successfully model the M&M Food Market corporate values and purpose in their work.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable in the ambiguous, using data to get to clear answers
- Degree in business administration, social sciences, statistics, mathematics, or another relevant field
- Demonstrated consumer research experience, preferably within a research organization
- Skilled and experienced researcher who knows how to devise and prioritize a consumer learning plan
- Communicates with honesty and kindness, and creates the space for others to do the same
