We are looking for a Quality Technician for our Langley, BC plant!

Day shift

$80,000. /year salary CAD

Summary The Quality Engineer will assist in maintaining Kingspan’s Quality Management Systems. This includes assisting in planning, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards Develops and analyses statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality of finished product.The Quality Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the organizations Quality and Production process with a focus on Continuous Improvement of the Quality and Safety standards set forth by the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage internal QH&S and Compliance management systems in accordance with ISO standards 9001,14001,45001, and 37301.
• Training – Support training new and updated processes.
• Manage calibration program.
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel.
• Record and communicate on Quality Metrics to both Management and Shop floor.
• Housekeeping – participate in GEMBA walks and manage subsequent RAIL items.
• Assist all departments in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Risk Assessments – Ensure risk assessments are up to date and of the highest standard.
• Assist in document control activities.
• Ensure compliance with FM, ULC, Intertek and other product approval requirements and readiness for audits.
• Manage non conformances and facilitate RCCA analysis and Investigations where appropriate.
• Any other reasonable duties as assigned.
• Audit internal systems for compliance.
• Manage sign off of all necessary documents.
• Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma tools and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance too all Kingspan policies and standards.

Education/ Experience

• Strong inter-personal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Six Sigma black belt is preferred, however training will be given to develop if necessary.
• Reliable and flexible in their approach.
• A minimum 5 years experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline is highly desirable.

Computer Skills

• Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.

Certificates and Licenses

• Valid Driver’s license.

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Travel to customer job sites. (Out of country occasionally).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, colour vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Working in heights.
• Role involves walking or standing for most of the day.
