Principal Member Of Technical Staff

The Java Platform Group is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated lead engineer. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform that is used by millions of engineers. We are looking for an engineer with a thorough working experience of both the Java Platform and the implementation of the cloud native services. We are hiring to further expand our cloud service to more Oracle commercial regions and we are continuously investing to grow the sevice's capabilities and footprint across the globe. As a Principal Engineer, you must be able to design, implement and test our cloud native service to further improve the experience of both our enterprise customers and the smaller businesses.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Requirements:

• Experience working with OCI or another major cloud vendor (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with cloud native technologies including container lifecycle and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Helm, K8S)
• Experience in using relational / non-relational database in development
• Experience in microservices health monitoring using monitoring tools preferably Grafana
• Highly competent in Java and one or more secondary programming language such as GO, Python, Kotlin, C/C++
• 7+ years' experience in designing, implementing, testing and operating cloud native in an Agile and DevOps setup
• Experience in using a Java framework in development preferably using Dropwizard
• Experience in scaling up large distributed applications in an event-based software architecture
• 2+ years' experience working in a role as Lead / Principal Engineer or Architect
• Experience with Jenkins CI/CD, Git, Maven/Gradle
• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
• Capable of writing highly maintainable codes and using tools like SonarQube, Junit

Additional:

• Experience in service test (e.g., Istio)
• Possess cloud engineering certifications
• Experience with Functions/Serverless
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management (e.g., Terraform and Chef)
• Experience in cloud end-to-end distributed tracing (e.g., Jaeger)
