Plant Chief Power Engineer – Overview

The Plant Chief Power Engineer will be responsible for establishing a strategic action plan to support the execution of the Plant Foreman’s operational goals and objectives. Reporting to the Plant Foreman, this role will be required to also perform the plant chief duties as required by ABSA regulations.You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Hanlan Robb Gas Plant. You will provide direct coaching, guidance, and support to operating staff and contractors to consistently meet or exceed expectations in the following areas: production; operating costs; policy administration; corporate values; environment, health, safety & training; regulatory; community relations; and emergency response.

The Hanlan Robb Sweet and Sour Gas Plant is located near Edson, Alberta.The sour train at the Hanlan Robb Gas Plant processes include amine sweetening, modified Claus sulfur recovery, Sulfreen tail gas clean-up and Sulfur Prilling. The sweet train at the Hanlan Robb Gas Plant processes include water and hydrocarbon dewpoint control utilizing glycol injection and ammonia refrigeration. The plant receives sweet and sour gas from local area wells.

Responsibilities

·Perform Chief Engineer Duties - responsible for the technical operations of a refrigerated lean oil absorption plant and associated rail and truck terminal.

·Establish a culture of high performance centered on Canlin’s values and business strategy.

·Maintain processing reliability and product quality in the plant while optimizing production volumes in an economic and safe environment.

·Demonstrate and uphold Canlin’s policies and procedures applicable to the operation of company assets.

·Day to day direction of plant and rail and truck terminal personnel for the safe and economical operation and maintenance of a sweet gas plant and associated equipment; making changes to meet product control specifications.

·Participation in the Hanlan Robb budgeting cycle including production, operating costs, and capital projects.

Qualifications

·Proven leadership ability to manage a team of shift personnel to a high level of safety and operational proficiency to reach goals and objectives.

·Experience in a sour gas processing facility required.

·1^st Class Power Engineer certification

·Current certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG.

·Experience with process safety and very familiar with ABSA requirements
