4th Class Power Engineering Certificate

Demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field

Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles, methods and practices

Thorough knowledge of electrical and traction power design principles, equipment, and systems used by the TTC

Sound judgement and well-developed technical, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, verbal communication and engineering report-writing skills

Plan, schedule and produce detailed calculations, design, contract specifications and engineering drawings for department specific system projects.

Prepare engineered calculations, designs and specifications for planned and emergency work

Solid technical skills combined with excellent project management and strategic skills

Combination of equivalent experience and education

Be aware of environmental responsibilities and maintains compliance to environmental regulations.

Manages Power (Steam) and Recovery chemical treatment programs.

Provides coaching and leadership to department personnel. Utilize and develop strengths and abilities within the team.

A minimum of 3 years directly related experience

It would be an asset to have a Computer Science Certificate and working knowledge of Reliable and Delta Controls

Opportunity to have flexible hours allowing for 3 weekend days.

Responsible to work mainly in the production facility, trouble shooting, performing preventative maintenance work and maintenance repairs.

Look after the refrigeration system and boilers.

· Power engineering and control room experience are also major assets.

·Experience with process safety and very familiar with ABSA requirements

·Experience in a sour gas processing facility required.

·Current certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG.

Assisting in the commissioning and qualification of equipment and utilities.

One years’ experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility in the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex building systems.

Providing corrective and predictive maintenance on industrial process and research equipment in a production environment.

Performing troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs on process and research equipment.

Responsible for all utility services, purified water system and tank farm, including completions of all necessary logs for power boiler permits.

Providing quick and innovative solutions to equipment and process malfunctions.

To have experience of gas and oil fired boilers, refrigeration, and all related equipment in the power house and mechanical floors.

Must have knowledge of Power Engineers Act.

Must possess the necessary interpersonal skills to effectively carry out the required functions.

Previous hospital experience in a similar setting an asset. Discreet and confidential in all hospital/patient/resident related matters.

To hold a valid 4th class Manitoba Power Engineers Certificate.

Must be available to work days, evenings or nights.

Optimizing the fuel management, electricity output and production of the biomass energy plant

Monitoring the effectiveness of the Plant’s Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance with air, effluent and landfill permits and regulations;

The 1st Class Power Engineer Chief will have the responsibility to assist and support the plant manager with:

Liaise with Conifex Timber Inc. fiber manager and other external fuel and transportation suppliers as required;

BC Safety Authority Certification to operate in BC.

Business or accounting degree or similar qualification.

Minimum 4+ years’ experience performing mechanical design in the any one of the oil and gas, power or industrial industries.

Experience in construction support, facilities commissions and startup and previous experience directing junior engineers is desirable.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred experience utilizing AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software (or equivalent).

Grade 10 plus (4) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
