Power Plant Operators Jobs

Three to five years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Good oral and written communication skills required

Must have basic computer skills

Three to five years related experience in fossil fuel power plants, refineries or related fields

Monitors systems and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures

Operates systems, equipment, and components during start-up, run, shutdown and standby mode in accordance with standard operating procedures

Willingness to lead by example, work hard and quickly learn new skills.

Attention to detail, with the ability to focus on the assigned tasks, and responsibilities.

interacting with scientists, engineers, other operators, and managers.

Operation of production fermenters and associated control systems, and oversight of fermentation process

Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of fermentation equipment

Preparation of liquid media used during fermentation process

Operates and performs preventive maintenance on instrument and medical air compressors/driers, receivers, medical vacuum pumps and their respective pipe distribution systems.

Maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools; evaluates/recommends purchase of same to the Steam and Mechanical Supervisor.

Responds to site emergencies and cooperates with other Departments, Fire, Safety and Security.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

·Experience with process safety and very familiar with ABSA requirements

·Experience in a sour gas processing facility required.

·Current certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG.

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Fundamental knowledge of computer data entry and interpretation

Complete special assignments/tasks as required by WMRE Operations Manager, Market Area Gas Operations Manager, or Landfill District Manager.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience diagnosing and repairing internal combustion engines and cooling systems

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Basic knowledge of 120/240/480 3ph volt AC circuits.
