Power Plant Technician Jobs

Job Summary
Operates, inspects, maintains and troubleshoots all generating plant steam and auxiliary equipment.
Job Responsibilities

• Performs general housekeeping functions as necessary
• Isolates and restores system, equipment, and components strictly adhering to the work scope and applicable procedures and practices
• Monitors systems and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Performs data collection and maintain proper logs
• Operates systems, equipment, and components during start-up, run, shutdown and standby mode in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Perform operational diagnostic and analytical functions on systems, equipment and components
• Performs administrative functions in support of work unit such as timekeeping, materials support, const monitoring, and scheduling and quality control/quality assurance
• Adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations
• Performs emergency response activities as required
• Operates Company vehicles and equipment
• Communicates with the Control Room Operator about equipment start and stop time, abnormal conditions and corrective actions, equipment checks and conditions found
• Uses plant computer systems to monitor work backlog and input work order data

Required
Job Requirements - Experience:

• Must have basic computer skills
• Three to five years related experience in fossil fuel power plants, refineries or related fields
• Good oral and written communication skills required

Job Requirements - Education/Training:

• High School Graduate or GED
• Achieve a passing score on the Power Plant Technician tests.

Preferred

• Three to five years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Associated Degree in a related science or equivalent technical degree.
