POSITION SUMMARY

The Bioprocess Plant Operators will participate in cutting edge industrial biotechnology projects, helping to improve new bioprocesses, and execute on the bioprocess deployment and operations. You will contribute to key industrial biotechnology development and biomanufacturing projects, executing on the bioprocess deployment and operations of these projects. The Bioprocess Plant Operators will be part of a team focused on delivering tangible value for internal and external stakeholders, interacting with scientists, engineers, other operators, and managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, Develop & Grow

·Technical Ability: must be able to operate and monitor bioprocess equipment and related systems in accordance with approved standard operating procedures.

·Willingness to accept new assignments, projects, and challenges, be capable of troubleshooting issues as they occur, and identify trends and ways to reduce bioprocess variability.

·Data Management/Compliance: Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a quality-minded approach to all record keeping providing detailed information on the status of their tasks.

·All documentation must comply with FDA GMP practices as defined by corporate policy.

·Must be able to effectively communicate and understand technical information and report on challenges and progress made.

·Safety and Environmental Awareness: Shall adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines and should promote safety and environmental compliance in all areas.

·Fermentation, Cell Culture, and Downstream Processing

Operational Execution

  • Operation of production fermenters and associated control systems, and oversight of fermentation process
  • Preparation of liquid media used during fermentation process
  • Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of fermentation equipment
  • Assisting technicians with troubleshooting and solving technical problems in fermentation
  • Maintenance of a clean work environment to assure sterility.
  • Maintenance of records associated with fermentation processes
  • Promote safety in all areas of work, professional courtesy, and a positive work environment within the company

  • Good understanding of hygiene & processes within an industrial environment.

·Post Secondary Education in Biotechnology or related discipline. Operators from Dairy, Winemaking, and Brewing plants are also qualified to apply for this job.
