We are looking for a strong Staff Accountant to join our Office Team to lead the month end and year end closing processes. The ideal Candidate will be a bright, self-motivated person of high integrity that thrives in a professional environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work Closely with the Accounting Team and CPA firm to successfully complete Monthly and Year-End Close.
• Assist with all Functions of Accounts Payable Processing as Needed.
• Support any and all other functions of the Accounting Department and its staff as needed.
• Assist in Bi-Weekly Payroll Processing (Direct Deposit, Tax payments and Filings as required by the Government Branches in Canada on a Monthly/Annual Basis).
• Collect all Inventory reporting, analyzing all inventory data, develop adjustments for General Ledger for Monthly/Annual Close Requirements.
• Responsible for month end/year end closing process on a timely basis.
• Assist in preparation of Accruals and Allocations of Financial Data as required.
• Integral support of future transition from QuickBooks to a fully integrated ERP system.

Education and Experience

• Experience with transitioning from QuickBooks to an ERP system desired.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Experience using QuickBooks desired.
• Experience with multi-level Bills of Material desired
• Strong computer skills
• 5 years experience in accounting, 3 years with month end and year end closing processes.
• Team orientation and ability to work with a variety of people
• Experience in product manufacturing or scientific product environment
