Assistant Plant Manager Jobs

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to join their team in Mississauga, ON, Vaughan, ON AND Brampton, ON.

The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for effective and efficient operation of production lines to ensure cost-effective, timely manufacture of quality products in accordance with established business plans/objectives

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensures that all good manufacturing processes, sanitation requirements, and allergen and identity preservation controls are adhered to.
• Ensures that all food safety specifications and requirements of the finished product have been met prior to shipping.
• Identifies areas of process improvement, utilizing Lean Enterprise tools and programs in production areas in conjunction with all Plant functions;
• Monitors and provides analysis on production reports including yield variance quality, and injury reports;
• Ensures a safe work environment for employees, customers and visitors. This includes monitoring working practices and adherence to safety procedures;
• Performs other duties as required by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude, responsive and action oriented
• Minimum five years of Production Management experience
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Post Secondary Diploma in a related field required
• Unionized experience
• Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of process improvement tools
