We entered the ventilation industry in 1955, and in 1980 began to engineer and produce an innovative line of aluminum dampers. Great attention has been devoted to design, in order to develop products which are durable, maintenance-free, energy efficient, and unparalleled in performance. TAMCO has recently join the Heating and Cooling segment of SPX Technologies.
We are looking for a Plant Manager based from Smiths Falls, Ontario to oversee a facility. You will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance in a manufacturing environment of high quality engineered products by effectively planning work, organizing the workforce, and managing financial metrics while optimizing quality and safety. You will be a great leader, able to motivate employees to produce quality products in a safe manner, results oriented and continuously focused on driving improvement.
Main Duties of the Plant Manager:
- Leads and oversees scheduling, production, and inventory control
- Shares responsibility for continued improvement of positive culture index as it relates to site morale and turnover initiatives
- Partners with Corporate and site leadership to develop, implement, and effectively communicate business metrics and goals to all team members
- Drives a safety first culture; continuously improves and ensures compliance with all safety procedures
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives to lower costs and increase efficiency
- Ensures timely and effective delivery of goods to clients
- Manages operations budget to ensure minimal production cost and optimal product quality
- Collaborates with engineering and commercial teams to ensure planning and production are optimized
- Develops and implements an effective succession planning program for all levels of leadership and departments
- Leads performance management for plant employees; identifies and addresses areas of needed coaching and guidance
- Successfully manages and completes multiple business projects and initiatives through effective delegation and mentoring
- Maintains productive working relationship with unions; proactively addresses labor relations issues and challenges
- Oversees long term planning activities geared towards enhanced operations; manage capital projects
- Complies with all applicable state and federal environmental and safety regulations and labor agreement(s)
- Ensures adherence to Marley quality standards while actively driving quality focus among all levels of employees
Main skills required for Plant Manager Role:
- Previous experience in an environment manufacturing highly engineered, custom products
- Plant operations/management experience
- MBA or advanced would be great but not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering, industrial management, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement, lean savings, and process improvements
