Procurement Category Manager Jobs

An exciting opportunity to be part of and support the Black & McDonald National Procurement Team across North America. The Category Manager reports directly to the Director of Corporate Procurement.

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Monitor supplier performance while managing key relationships
• Lead the analysis and segmentation of categories considering demand industry practices as well as market changes
• Establish Category Management objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) targets, and supplier management strategies
• Identify opportunities to gain business and executive commitment through the development and presentation of business cases
• Develop and implement Category Management strategies including sourcing processes, evaluations, and negotiations while measuring and reporting these activities
• Establish best in class contract management principles and compliance management practices
• Other duties as assigned
• Support the development of skills and execution of talent management plans
• Plan and forecast activities relevant to the category

Competency Requirements

• Addresses and works to eliminate risks in a timely manner
• Experience in sourcing, fact-finding, and negotiations
• Construction industry experience
• Knowledge of Total Cost to Own and Net Present Value models

Education Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) would be an asset
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or Project Management
• Any designation in Project Management and/or Procurement would be an asset

Work Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of North America Markets, Suppliers and Regulations. Global market knowledge
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Category/Commodity Management in a technical industry such as Construction, Utilities, Facility Management, and Manufacturing

• Knowledge of procurement systems (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Oracle, JDE, etc.)
• High degree of competency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
• Shares timely information across all regions
• Strong communication skills
• Result orientated and confident
• Ability to respond to the rapid evolution of the industry and of technology
• Ability to effectively collaborate/support key internal stakeholders across all regions
• Applies analytical thinking to make recommendations that pursue sustainable performance
• Demonstrated commitment to meeting and/or exceeding customer’s expectations
