My client is a global manufacturing operation with its head office located in Mississauga.

Your new role

The Regional Plant Controller is responsible for 8 plants and a business totaling $400m+, leading a team of 6 senior accounting professionals. The Regional Plant Controller will coordinate the delivery of all monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the assigned business units as well monthly operational reporting, meeting critical deadlines, to support operations management teams. The Regional Plant Controller will prepare the quarterly reporting package for presentation to the Board and senior management. The Regional Plant Controller will work with the North American Controller, to oversee and guide overall accounting practices to ensure methodology consistency across North America. The Regional Plant Controller will pursue continuous improvement in operational and financial reporting, analysis, commentary, scorecards, dashboards, KPI’s etc. while ensuring data integrity. The Regional Plant Controller will correlate monthly operations data (i.e. production metrics) to financial data (costs and profit) to highlight the opportunity costs of production deficiencies. The Regional Plant Controller will provide mentoring and professional / personal growth opportunities to develop the team. The Regional Plant Controller provides financial expertise and support to other functional areas of the business as needed. The Regional Plant Controller assists plant management teams with the development of annual plans and standard costing.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have 15+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment in a mid to large($100m+) sized operation. You will have 5+ years of progressive management experience with a proven collaborative team management style. You will hold a completed CPA designation. Advanced Excel skills are required and ideally exposure to JDE Enterprise One. IFRS experience is preferred. Proven leadership skills and the ability to influence others along with outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
