Financial Controller Jobs

This is a senior management level position responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for on of our leading companies - Frost Building Systems, Responsible for oversight of all accounting processes and procedures ensuring they are managed and performed in a timely and accurate manner. The Controller coordinates the company’s month-end close and preparation of GAAP financial statements, job cost budgets and cost to complete reports, as well as provides project job cost and profitability reporting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage sales tax audits
• Identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Manage all financial records, banking and daily operations of the accounting department including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management
• Manage and maintain a weekly cash flow projection
• Responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance for a separate electrical subcontractor business
• Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Verify subcontractors follow requirements for contracts, insurance, W-9’s, payment applications, supplier information, and change orders
• Coordinate and provide financial oversight of key job cost reports used by project management
• Provide audit schedules as requested by external auditors
• Present prepared financial information in a monthly executive management meeting
• Maintain a system of internal controls over financial, accounting and reporting functions
• Manage, mentor and train employees of the accounting staff
• Oversee and manage contracts, change orders, payment applications
• Establish, coordinate and enforce project specific accounting procedures.

Qualifications/Experience

• Team player with demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Expertise in general ledger and job cost accounting month-end close and financial statement preparation, including work-in-process reports
• Strong MS Office skills
• 10 years of job-related experience at a senior level, with 5 of those years of experience at the Controller level
• Expereince working in a construction industry or similar .
• Quick study, problem solver, exhibits strong work ethic, and is self-motivated and proactive
• Experience in preparation of budgets, forecasts, projections and pro-formas with the ability to perform analytical analysis
• Technical accounting proficiency and knowledge of best accounting practices
• Proficient Microsoft Excel for the preparation of reports, spreadsheets and other accounting analysis that may be required by management

Education/Certification

• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, with emphasis in accounting
• CPA or MBA desirable
• BBA degree with emphasis in General Business or Finance considered
