The Talent
You are a motivated self-starter with a deep understanding of accounting principles. You are known for your desire to succeed, you work well under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and you understand the need to be flexible with respect to changing priorities and deadlines. You have a high aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. You will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
The Commitment
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Act as the advisor for senior management’s compliance with required GAAP, Lender and Sponsor, and other regulatory filings
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Partners with IT and System owners to set and execute vision for our General Ledger / NetSuite system
- Works on complex issues related to financial reporting, both internal and external
- Guides the Accounting team, facilitating change management leadership and recommendations for implementing new processes
- Lead the strategic oversight and execution of the accounting function that provides financial results, as well as metrics to judge performance to key areas of the business
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including compliance
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting systems, as needed
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Collaborate with senior management across the organization to identify and resolve significant accounting and reporting topics in revenue recognition, contracts and agreements
The Essentials
- Action-oriented thought leader who can build a consensus and shared perspective across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field; MBA is preferred
- Experience with NetSuite/Accounting System is an asset
- Strong Excel and analytical skills, including financial modeling and analysis
- Solution-focused, analytical problem solver with ability to pivot and prioritize based on shifting business needs
- 5+ years of experience, with leadership/ team management for at least 2 years.
- Proficiency with job cost or project-based accounting and GAAP compliance
- CPA certification is an asset
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organization
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to operate with a high-level of discretion
- Proficient at accelerating the growth of others through training, delegation, empowerment, motivation, accountability, and recognition
