Financial Controller Jobs

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller for a permanent full-time position at our Hamilton office. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for completing full-cycle accounting and following processes to ensure the business functions efficiently. You will join a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly skilled team with lots of opportunity for growth. You should be self-motivated, energetic, and have a passion for business. This position is a hybrid model with 3 days a week in-office.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
• Contribute to company financial strategy and decision-making processes
• Ensure all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations
• Assist the Director of Finance and CFO with quarterly public financial statements
• Oversee full cycle accounting operations including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable and month end processes
• Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
• Assist with mergers and acquisition planning and consolidating financial operations
• Assist in coordinating and preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances
• Assist in facilitating external audit of financial statements with external audit firm
• Manage accounting operations in all aspects

A Little Bit About You

• Netsuite Enterprise experience, an asset
• CPA designation (or working towards), an asset
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite
• You operate in a fast-paced environment adhering to deadlines and getting the job done
• Desire for continual learning
• 5+ years in an accountant or related position
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit + numbers are your jam
• Post-secondary education in Accounting
