The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority owner and operator of the Peace Bridge iscurrently recruiting for a Full Time Controller to join our team.

Under general direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller manages the day-to-day accounting activities of the Authority.Performs and monitors a variety of accounting activities to ensure the Authority’s financial resources are managed in accordance with US GAAP, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, preparing financial statements; preparing required regulatory filings (US and Canada); budgeting; revenue and fixed asset accounting.Reviews financial reports and accounting statements to ensure accuracy.Provides technical expertise and advice to functional or operational area managers/supervisors to assist them in developing expense budgets and manage their financial responsibilities.

The Controller assists the CFO with the development and implementation of complex accounting standards and projects that are complex and technical in nature and carried out in accordance with professional standards, legislation and regulations in both the United States and Canada.This position provides supervision and direction to the Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerk.The position also assists the CFO in managing the day-to-day internal audit function as well as provide direction to the Audit Clerks.

Requirements:

·Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University in U.S. or Canada;

·Licensed CPA in the US or Canada;

·Minimum of three - five (3-5) years’ experience as a Controller or in a similar role;

·Minimum 5 years supervisory experience;

·In-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and ability to interpret and implement required accounting procedures;

·Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills;

·Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Advanced Sage Intacct experience including budgeting and report building experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate is a forward thinking, self-motivated, dynamic and results oriented individual who is a seasoned accounting professional with the ability to build relationships, highly analytical with exceptional organizational skills and possess a high degree of professional integrity.

This position is conditional upon and maintenance of a valid driver’s license, international border crossing security clearance, and a Nexus trusted traveler card (or the ability to acquire a Nexus card if not currently enrolled in the program).

Salary Range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000.
