An excellent opportunity is available for a motivated and skilled Payroll Professional to join an industry leading organisation in Burnaby/Newwest area. As a part of the Finance Team, reporting into the Snr Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll process and ensuring timely and accurate postings for all Canadian payroll related activities.

As part of the finance team, the Payroll Leader will be responsible for overseeing the payroll process and ensuring timely and accurate postings for all Canadian payroll related activities. You will also mentor and coach a junior payroll administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve productivity
- Manage payroll related audits
- Day-to-day oversight of the payroll function and the team.
- Process timely and accurate garnishments
- Maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners
- Prepare payroll scorecard on key payroll metrics
- Responsible for ensuring that all payroll processing controls, and narrative is kept up to date and accurate
- Responsible for payroll accuracy and timeliness
- Ensuring compliance with all federal, state and provincial laws, ensure accurately and timely payroll federal and state related government and agency reporting including.
- Ensure 100% compliance with existing internal controls
- Review and approve reconciliations of payroll related balance sheet accounts and related journal entries
Qualifications
- Confidence and ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required
- Working knowledge of Kronos/Oracle R12 System for HR, Time / Labor and General Ledger
- Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
- Minimum 5-7 years of managing a BC based payroll department. Multi provincial payroll will be highly regarded but not required.
- Excellent problem solving / judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of payroll software platforms like Ceridian Dayforce, ADP Workforce, Sage 50 etc.
Education Requirements
PCP/CPM is considered a mandatory requirement.

Salary - 100,000 plus 4 weeks vacation
