Job Description

Core Duties:

  1. Administration of signing up new clients and employees
  2. managing contracts
  3. collecting and providing procedural information
  4. setting new clients and works in Ceridian, quick books, and internal systems.
  5. Executing and managing payroll and accounting functions
  6. full cycle accounting
  7. solid user of Quickbooks
  8. T4s, pay slips, WSIB, EHT, etc.
  9. collecting and processing timesheets, pay raises, change requests, bonuses, commissions, expenses and terminations.
  10. invoicing clients
  11. Account reconciliations
  12. Managing accounts receivables and follow up on payments
  13. Managing and processing benefit packages
  14. Dealing with regulatory agencies (ie CRA, Workers Comp., etc.)
  15. Communicate and resolve any payment delays or discrepancies with employees and clients
  16. Maintain payroll for a portfolio of clients and their employees across all provinces
  17. Communicate effectively with clients and external employees to obtain the information required to process payroll in accordance with each client’s unique requirements
  18. Process hourly earnings, salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations and employee deductions on multiple pay cycles
  19. Apply payments in quick books
  20. Regular audits on management requests.
  21. Research and updating knowledge resources.
  22. Maintain and administer client specific payroll related policies and rules
  23. Assist in delivering reports and information to clients as requested
  24. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members in order to promote consistent quality delivery of services across all areas
  25. Collaborate with HR Teams to on various issues pertaining to clients and workers.
  26. Various other back-office duties and functions as they may be assigned.


Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of direct payroll related experience
  2. Canadian Payroll Association PCP qualification and relevant experience
  3. Experience processing multi-provincial and multi-cycle payroll
  4. Sound knowledge of federal & provincial payroll regulations and legislation
  5. Exposure to HRIS, Payroll software, Microsoft Office and Time & Attendance Programs
  6. The ability to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure and manage project timelines
