Job Description

Sunrise Floral is a floral wholesaler serving customers both locally and across British Columbia. We work with large grocers and smaller locally owned businesses, supplying them with bouquets, cut flowers and potted plants/herbs. Our aim is to treat each of our customers no matter how big or small with impeccable service, respect, and professionalism.

We have a full-time, temporary opportunity for an Office Administrator to cover a maternity leave. This opportunity is anticipated to start on October 1, 2023, and conclude in December 2024. The hours are Monday to Thursday 7 am to 4 pm and Friday 8 am to 1 pm. Being in the Floral industry, our big holidays are Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Thanksgiving which requires working additional hours and days.


Responsibilities include:

-Assisting all departments when needed

-Answering incoming calls, always checking voicemail and monitoring emails and incoming faxes.

-Basic communication with our customers and warehouses via email and sometimes phone

-Supporting our Sales Team, GM, and Owner

-Preparing invoices using QuickBooks

-Data entry

-Booking of appointments

-Track office inventory and supplies and place orders when necessary

-Coordinate office activities and operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operating procedures.

-Sending out weekly order forms to customers.

-Basic social media maintenance of business Instagram and Facebook pages

-Manage incoming orders.

-Manage Google Spreadsheets


Our Ideal Candidate:

-At least 2 years of office experience

-Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and great at multi-tasking.

-Reliable, efficient, team player capable of wearing multiple hats.

-Strong time management skills.

-Must have experience or be willing to learn QuickBooks, Excel and Google Drive is an asset.

-Professional phone manners accompanied by great communication skills.

-Ability to address customer concerns or questions.

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

-Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.

-Must be able to speak and write English fluently.

-Willingness to learn and collaborate.

-Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

-Floral and Plant knowledge is helpful but not required.
