Swift Innovations, a fast-growing contract manufacturer specializing in skincare products, is seeking a diligent Manufacturing Assistant to join our production team in Edmonton, Alberta. The Manufacturing Assistant will be an integral part of our manufacturing process and will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and quality production of skin care products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Support:
- Assist in the setup and operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure materials are prepped and available for production runs.
- Work alongside the production team to meet manufacturing targets.
- Monitor equipment for performance and maintenance needs.
2. Quality Control:
- Perform quality inspections of raw materials, products in-process, and finished goods.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GMP).
- Document and report any quality issues or discrepancies.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
3. Inventory Management:
- Assist with inventory control by keeping accurate records.
- Help maintain appropriate levels of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Participate in regular inventory audits.
4. Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Participate in safety training and regular safety meetings.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production data including outputs, material usage, and equipment performance.
- Complete necessary documentation as required by internal and regulatory standards.
- Communicate any production issues or delays to the supervisor.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Provide feedback on manufacturing processes and assist in implementing improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is highly desired.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, and stand for prolonged periods.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
