- Delegation of tasks
- Move existing equipment within the building
- Complete associated paperwork, including dispatch requests, PM’s, etc…
- Organize needed materials for the task
- Complete welding, basic electrical, plumbing and fabricating as per building requirements
- Manage and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform mechanical repairs and rebuilds, including but not limited to gearboxes, belt and mechanical driven conveyor systems, diaphragm pumping systems, pneumatics components and tools, and properly align to tolerance bearings, gears, shafts and couplings
- Contact with outside contractors
- Work in a safe manner, follow all rules, regulations and legislation
- Training of employees
- Supervision of Apprentice Millwrights may be required
- Install new and used machinery and equipment
- Follow Lean manufacturing guidelines
- Perform rigging and operation of cranes and forklifts
- Prioritization of dispatch requests
- Rotating shift between day and afternoon shift (night shift may be required dependent on business conditions)
- Permanent
- Weekend shift may be required dependent on business conditions
- Full-time
- Ability to supervise and multi-task
- Able to read blueprints
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Flexibility to work between two South Edmonton facilities, if required
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours/day
- Pre-employment testing including drug & alcohol, vision, auditory, background check and physical demands assessment required upon hire
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office, word, and access)
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing Principles and Total Productive Maintenance
- Knowledge and experience in welding (OAW, GMAW, MIG, SMAW)
- Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and pneumatics experience
- Knowledge in a variety of trades is extremely beneficial
- Dual ticketed tradesman would be considered an asset
- Ticket for Journeyman Millwright
