Assistant Controller Jobs

Our client is in search of an Assistant Controller for their professional office setting. This role will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day accounting operations, providing support to the accounting & office team, and offering suggestions for process improvement. Compensation & Hours

• This is a full time and permanent position
• The anticipated rate of pay is $60K annually

Position Summary

• Assisting with the full cycle accounting process including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, ledgers, transactions, and supervision of year-end audit
• Maintaining capital assets registry, amortization schedules, and general accounting system (chart of accounts and software updates)
• Payroll and benefits administration: remittances, renewal process, regulatory filings, and answering employee inquiries.
• Working collaboratively with the management team in developing and upholding budgets
• Office IT support with contractors and advise on technology replacement requirements.
• Suggesting and implementing policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, compliance with accounting standards and law society trust rules
• Reporting on financial results of budgets, labour, and facilities maintenance

Required Qualifications

• Utmost respect for confidentiality
• Proficient in Sage50 and Microsoft 365
• Highly adaptable, organized, and detail oriented
• Phenomenal writing, communication, and correspondence skills
• Post-secondary education in finance or accounting
• 5+ years in finance or accounting
