Reports To CTO
Job Overview
The Manager, Systems is responsible for systems and technology deployed within InsureLine including the configuration, management and overall support of the entire Applied ecosystem. As a systems and technology advocate, the Manager, Systems consults and advises leadership, employees and franchisees on the best usage of systems and technology. The Manager, Systems works alongside the leadership team in building and executing strategic plans which further business objectives. The Manager, Systems mentors and leads the systems and technology support team, and collaborates with the CTO to develop systems and technology plans which support business objectives and lower overall risk. The successful candidate is passionate about helping others grow and succeed and loves the challenge of solving a problem and identifying solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Recommend and Incorporate enhancements to systems to close gaps and improve results
- Consult, lead and manage data migration and conversion
- Collaborate with Applied Systems and other key vendor partners in maintaining and improving system and operation efficiencies
- Develop and maintain documentation and system manuals
- Consult, lead and manage system integration projects
- Facilitate system and technology access and data conversion for new franchises during the onboarding
- Work alongside the CTO in developing strategic system and technology plans
- Lead user testing for new systems and processes.
- Maintain and continuously develop cyber security best practices
- Collaborate with internal business units and implement system configuration changes
- Oversee systems and technology team
- Develop KPIs to gauge the effectiveness of system usage and determine where enhancements are needed
- Provide expertise and recommendations to the business as it relates to the use of systems and technology
- Engage and communicate with brokerage network relating to system updates and enhancements
- Advocate for systems and technology on behalf of the business with vendors and partners
- Develop communication campaigns related to system updates and enhancements
- Receive and respond to support requests for systems or similar queries
- Manage and monitor internal ticketing system and CRM
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of other broker management systems (ie. Tam, Powerbroker, Keal)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Insurance industry is preferred with Personal Lines.
- Knowledge of insurance practices within Alberta and/or Ontario is a strong asset
- Commercial Lines experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Applied ecosystem including
- Epic
- Bookkeeping or experience working in an accounting department would be an asset
- Operational understanding of brokerage management, or prior brokerage management experience is an asset
